Location

In March 2010, the volcano began to display signs of volcanic acitivity which eventually resulted in an impressive explosion in the following month. Taking the world by storm, Eyjafjallajökull caused many flights to be cancelled, leaving holidaymakers stranded in countries unplanned and unprepared, and the volcanic ash was so widespread that in fact it could be seen in the skies of England. Despite this, Eyjafjallajökull's eruption made for an impressive volcanic display.
